Since its launch in 2017, Nintendo Switch has been promoting its product with a focus on its greatest strength: mobility and shareability. Its main copy has been “Play together anytime anywhere.”
During the pandemic, however, where every aspect of life has changed due to COVID-19, this message was seemingly challenged.

Fortunately, another major advantage of the product is the flexibility that allows players to use their homes as a playground, so this threat could turn into a great opportunity. It just needed a new message that fits the situation.

The Safest Playground
Nowadays, home is considered the safest place for us. The key visual of this ad is the image of the safe home. The shape of the house was created by utilizing the elements of the product and the brand logo design. 2 Joy-Con controllers are used to make the roof, the console serves as the body of the house and the Nintendo Switch logo placed in the center serves as the window to the house. The house itself, made of product and brand components, is a concise yet powerful message. Instead of telling people to stay home, it wittily tells them that home can be the safest and most fun place.
